Aloha Beautiful Sparkling Circle,

After this past weekend with the magical people and elemental exuberance of Sedona, Arizona, many new folk have been overflowing with even more of the same heart opening and gratitude. Just the experience of breathing in that fresh sun-showered air, dancing bare toes in the red dirt and being wrapped in bright birdsong of the blue skies is so powerful that when I stepped inside the cool library of Sedona for first the circle with the children, and then later again with an even larger group of young and young at heart, I could fairly hear the cosmic librarians of consciousness whispering cheers. “Crack open the binding! Dip these body plumes into divine inky pinky-swear inspiration and delight! Bold strokes now! Dash out the dull! Doodle and draw curly q hearts with wings in your margins! There you are. Highlight the best passages, and then co-create brand new stories of harmony, health and happiness. Every edge is gilded in dancing gold and light!” Yes. Babies as young as five months old were wriggling, Crystal and Rainbow kids boogie-ing, golden oldie wise elders saying “Finally! Now I know what I must do again. Dance! I’ve missed this part!”
So yes, again, Sedona was an awesome full day dance, flooding every layer of this valley of enchantment with those ancient oceans of original joy that we all know as heaven on earth. At one point in the evening circle, through a dear, once-sad portal precious sublime redheaded laughter burst into flames and we ALL became ignited by the bliss. LOL x 7jillion. Crazy and sweet even still that something as simple as a pair of dancing hands in a circle with friends and strangers could catch fire and burn us clean to our wildflower spring. Glorious. And again, I’m so grateful!
But not all Dancing Hands experiences are so exuberant. Some dancing hands interactions are quiet. Some are tearful. Some are full of release. A winter’s thaw. A sacred reunion. All are intimate kisses from the divine to the tenderest places of the heart, but each one has its own shape. Unchoreographed, the dancing hands move from fast spinning mudras to light speed spin. My body twists from hip hopping hilarity to a swirling, shimmering sheen. I never know where we’ll go, but with a yes, may I help you, Goodness conspires.
When I dance I see each participant’s perfection, and sometimes – not all the time, but sometimes — I see more. One woman (who I’ll call my friend) who came to a Skype Dancing Hands session was frightened as she faced a big court trial where she’d have to see the man who’d brutally assaulted her in her own home. She asked for nothing from me for our dancing hands session, but simply prayed that she could get through this trial, that justice would be served, and she could get back to her life. She’d missed lots of work. She was the mother of young children. A good wife. An ER nurse. Heartbroken. Spirit shattered, but reaching. She’d been living in fear for a long time. Long enough.
My hands began to dance. Gently. Softly. Soothing. I felt peace wash over us – she in a faraway state literally and figuratively – but Skype sessions with pure Source energy feel no differently than in person. Peace slowed down our breathing and relaxed our hearts. Our chat subsided as my hands clapped, snapped, and danced. At a distance I recognized whom I’ve come to know as Mother Mary. Usually when she comes she is close enough I can feel her calm and see the texture of her veil, but today, she was at a “safe distance.”
“Mother Mary’s here.” I notice her hand is down rattling the poles and gate of a fence. “She’s walking the fence,” I said to my friend. “Are you from a ranching family? Do you know what that is?” I asked. She replied, “No.”
I continued, “It’s what cowboys daily do to ensure there are no breaks in the fence. It’s to keep cows away from the bulls or livestock from escaping. But this fence is … low.”
Mary looked over her shoulder to me and pointedly demurred, “It’s to keep the pigs out.” Mary rattled the gate one last time and walked to us. I felt myself smiling. This is a true mother. She looked at my friend, softening. “I know better than to embrace you. You’ve been through enough, but you can lean into me and I’ll be there for you. Just lean into me now, or any time. I’ll help you feel supported if you wish support.” Mary opened one arm for my friend to lean into the crook of her mothering arm and rest on her shoulder.
As my friend gingerly leaned in to Mother Mary, Jesus came forward from the right and inside the fence. He slowly put out his hand and quietly said to my friend, “You’ve been through so much. I know better than to embrace you, but I am your brother and you can hold my hand now or anytime and I’ll be there for you. I’ll help you feel safe if you let me.” Slowly my friend extended her hand and put it in Jesus’ hand. He gently held it.
Suddenly we’re in a white curved cave of unfathomable peace and light. I could barely make out Mother Mary’s face, in front of me, but I felt my friend there. I felt Jesus still holding her hand and helping her forward. I’ve only known the feeling of this place once before in this lifetime and I suddenly knew that we were in the presence of God. God’s voice reached out like a heart beat steadying life, and said to my friend as warmly and gently as the sun rising on the horizon, “My child, you’ve been through so much. You’ve taken on such a powerful journey of healing. I know it has been hard and made you feel small and often afraid, but I see you as you truly are. You are perfect. You are brave. You are whole. You are mighty. And your strength will not only get you through, but you shall bear the light for women everywhere who haven’t the tongue or the will to defend themselves or the heart to stand up for their right to peace. You will even help those who wreck violence on others and help undo the wounds that caused them to act out in such sad ways. You are a daughter of God and I am and always will be there with you.”
My friend and I quietly cried. The tears of survivors are often quiet. I was proud of my friend. She was doing what I couldn’t find footing to do 32 years ago. I couldn’t get my perpetrator to court. But my friend – she is a mighty nurse who could push through the pain and ripped heart to flush the wound and make it right. The words of God enveloped us with deepest compassion and grace. I watched the hands of God unfurl yards of white silken cloth not seen on this plane and with that the light lifted so that I could see leagues and leagues of angels now standing in the curve of this suddenly massive cave space of white light – and as far as my eye could see in every direction – angels of the highest order were standing shoulder to shoulder guarding her, guarding us all. If ever I wished for an army of light this was the most powerful that could ever be. God continued, “You’re not alone. Nor will you be when you go to court tomorrow. Everyone here will be with you. That may be hard to feel in the crush of all things of the court, but take this and let the love of all the heavens wrap around your shoulders like a prayer shawl of peace. Even if you take a square inch of this silk of this, know we are all with you now and always, and we will help you feel safe if you need it. All will be well. You are loved. All will be well.”
My hands soon thereafter came to their resting spot connected, but open to the heart of pure Source energy. It still feels delicate, this session now more than a week ago, but there is still a vital, powerful, and unwavering conviction that God is here for my friend and for us all.
Her trial indeed progressed to the next level, and not surprisingly with some serious heavenly incubating. The District Attorney was so horrified by the mishandling of my friend’s case by one of her own sheriffs that she’s personally taken on representing my friend. We’ll continue to hold her in our daily dancing prayers, but all my bets are on the God squad.
Blessed Be.
May you feel the Blue Skies of everflowing peace and harmony always.
